Appointments for most services can be held in person, over the phone or online.
What will happen once I request an appointment?
If we need further clarification, we will make contact with you, otherwise we will allocate a practitioner according to what you have specified and they will be in touch to arrange a suitable day and time.
If you have indicated that your need is urgent, and you have indicated a risk area that is in place, we will follow up on the same day to check in further with you.
How many sessions are available?
The number of sessions available to you will depend on the service and your organisation’s contract with Vitae. If you need additional sessions, you can make a request directly through your counsellor. Vitae will send anonymous request information to your organisation’s contact person.
What can I expect from counselling?
Each counsellor has a different set of skills and approaches that they use. Please outline at the beginning what you are hoping to get from the sessions. If the approach is not the right from for you, please come back to Vitae and we can allocate someone else.
Before contacting Vitae, we encourage you to view our list of counsellors and select a few preferred options to share with us. In each practitioner’s profile, you will see a list of their areas of specialty. Please use the search function and try a few different key words that fit with your need.
When are sessions available?
Sessions are available either outside of work hours or during work, if arranged ahead of time with your manager. Some practitioners may have limits on their days or hours of work, but this will be discussed with you. Generally, remote appointments are available at a wider variety of times.
Are Vitae sessions confidential?
Yes – when you see a Vitae practitioner for any service, no details of what we talk about will be discussed with your organisation without your written permission. Confidentiality may be waived only if we believe that you’re at risk to yourself or others.
Vitae provides regular reports to your employer outlining statistical information about the service, but this does not include details of who has used the service.
